Our Work in Homa Bay County

IDF currently implements USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto Project in Rachuonyo North Sub County. The project is supporting the government of Kenya in attaining its goal of addressing the HIV and AIDS response by safeguarding the rights and welfare of children and adolescents impacted by HIV and AIDS. IDF currently has a target of reaching 6768 beneficiaries and their households for the financial year 2024 (Oct 2023-Sep 2024). The project works various stakeholders including the Directorate of Children Services, Ministry of Health, and County Government among others and implementing various interventions geared towards addressing the United Nation’s ambitious 95-95-95 global strategy to end the HIV pandemic.

IDF currently implements USAID Nuru Ya Mtoto Project in the whole of Homa Bay IDF also implements Global Fund Malaria Project in three Sub Counties namely; Rachuonyo East, Rachuonyo North, Mbita and Suba. The projects aims to improve access to prompt and effective treatment of malaria to realize the overall goal of a “Malaria Free Kenya”.

IDF implements the Kuimarisha Kaunti Project across all the 8 Sub Counties namely; Rachuonyo East, Rachuonyo South, Rachuonyo North, Rangwe, Homa Bay Town, Mbita, Ndhiwa and Suba.
